Question to ask yourself...

Do I need to coupon vs want to coupon?

In my case,  I need to coupon!   I'm financially poor!   Robbing Peter to pay Paul & 7 brothers every month.  Struggling to stay a float and having food on the table.  That's my situation!  Your situation may be different but we all could stand to save some money. 

I remember that my grandmother had the shelves stocked at all times.  We never went hungry.  She stocked up on staples and household supplies.  But not in my house....I can remember running out of food and making due with rice & beans for a few days to another payday.   Never at my grandparents house did that happen.  She saved and shopped responsiblilty.

So my reason is need to save money.  I know that there is expense with couponing but it's only a few dollars a week to save many dollars.   There is the time factor...but it's worth it in the money savings. 

Walgreens week of 4/17

Did my first Walgreen sale.....  I purchased $63 worth of stuff...and saved $53.00 in coupons!   Got rewards points at the register (RR) in $5.00 and used that to purchase 2 scotts tissue 4pks/$5...I got them FREE!   Made a mistake could have got another RR but did purchase 2 more items... Learning curve.

Sweetbay Grocery

I just went for the first time to a Sweetbay's ....The use competitor's coupons just like Publix.   Got to get their coupon policy but it's another option for us here in Florida.   Florida where no stores double/triple coupons!  I'll save that for a future rant!   

Learning couponing 101

I'm learning that to save money it takes time....to plan,organize, and then shopping time.   I'm online clipping , researching sales, and asking people to help clip some coupons.  It's interesting that to save money you have to think first.  When you have to save money because of financial issues then this is a necessary avenue.   So my advice to anyone getting started like me is to read and get with others to share coupons.   I'm learning so much from other people and all the tips I'm getting....
